Geneius Laboratories Ltd. was established in 2007, to exploit internationally-recognised expertise in advanced DNA technology. The company has attracted an experienced team with extensive market knowledge.

The Company, founded by a team of leading microbiologists from Newcastle University, is based in dedicated premises on the University campus in the centre of the City of Newcastle, one of a handful of Science Cities across the UK. Geneius has invested heavily in instrumentation and expertise to provide a market-leading service. As well as producing high quality routine food and drink services, we now offer in-house developed DNA-based testing methods to the food sector including our UKAS accredited Geneius rapID® tests and Geneius microID, and the powerful Geneius microST for the identification of contaminants in food production. These services have been Recognised as pioneering by the founders of Innocent Drinks including Richard Reed who have now invested in the business.

We pride ourselves on not only bringing innovative and reliable testing to the food and drink sector but providing our customers with dedicated customer service. Our trained staff are on hand to provide help and guidance to our customers whenever they need alongside our electronic sample submission and reporting system (GOLD) for easy and quick sample registration and data management.
